Del transmisor al facilitador: el docente de Inglés en educación superior en la era de la IA

Resumen

El presente estudio buscó examinar la autoidentificación de docentes de inglés en un continuo transmisor-facilitador a través de distintos dominios de enseñanza y determinar qué factores individuales e institucionales se asocian con dicha autoidentificación. Se aplicó un diseño cuantitativo de corte transversal mediante una encuesta a 112 docentes de cuatro instituciones de educación superior de Ecuador. Los resultados muestran una autoidentificación como facilitador considerablemente más alta en el diseño de actividades inmersivas y comunicativas (M = 5,68) que en la instrucción gramatical explícita (M = 2,96), y una reducción significativa del tiempo dedicado a la explicación directa, de 48,3 % a 29,7 % (p < ,001). El reconocimiento institucional percibido del rol facilitador mostró la asociación más fuerte con dicha autoidentificación (r = ,66), por encima de la competencia técnica en IA (r = ,41). Se concluye que la transición hacia la facilitación es real aunque desigual según el dominio de enseñanza, observándose que predomina el reconocimiento institucional del rol facilitador sobre el simple dominio técnico de la IA.
