Análisis bibliográfico sistemático de la implementación de un AI Ethics Lab en instituciones de educación superior en Guayaquil-Ecuador

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) poses urgent ethical challenges that demand systematic academic attention. This article presents a systematic literature review on AI Ethics Labs and analyzes their relevance to higher education institutions in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Through critical analysis of theoretical frameworks, international experiences, and Ecuador's emerging regulatory context, the essential knowledge for implementing these initiatives in developing countries is identified. Findings reveal that while a robust theoretical corpus exists in Global North contexts, a significant gap persists in contextualized research for Latin America. The study concludes that creating an AI Ethics Lab in Guayaquil would constitute a strategic space for developing local capacities in technology governance, provided that sociocultural particularities, institutional limitations, and power asymmetries inherent in global technological development are considered.
