Medios de comunicación interna como estrategia para fomentar el comportamiento de ciudadanía organizacional

Resumen

El propósito del presente estudio fue determinar el medio de comunicación preferido por los colaboradores dentro de las empresas y los factores que este medio contribuye a fomentar el comportamiento de ciudadanía organizacional (Organizational Citizenship Behavior – OCB). La investigación fue cuantitativa, transversal y descriptiva para identificar el medio de comunicación más utilizado y preferido por los empleados. Se aplicaron 278 encuestas a empleados de empresas públicas y privadas de la ciudad de Guayaquil, Ecuador para determinar el medio de comunicación interno. Para analizar la variable OCB se seleccionaron estudios relacionados con la comunicación organizacional para establecer una asociación de cualidades entre variables. La preferencia de los empleados para comunicarse con sus supervisores y colaboradores es cara a cara y vía WhatsApp, llevando a segundo plano el uso de correos electrónicos. Los resultados implican que el uso del WhatsApp debe ser institucionalizada como una herramienta formal de gestión con miras a utilizar nuevas herramientas que permitan la comunicación inmediata y cara a cara que fomente la comunicación asertiva, emocional y efectiva. Esta investigación contribuye al conocimiento sobre los factores que aportan a una comunicación interna organizacional efectiva a través del uso de la aplicación WhatsApp y su relación con el OCB.
